All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE)

Directorate of All India Survey on Higher Education (DAISHE) has been merged into Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA) as All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) Cell.

Background

To portray the status of higher education in the country, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), New Delhi has endeavored to conduct an annual web-based All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) since 2010-11. The survey covers all the Institutions in the country engaged in imparting of higher education. Data is being collected on several parameters such as teachers, student enrolment, programmes, examination results, education finance, infrastructure. Indicators of educational development such as Institution Density, Gross Enrolment Ratio, Pupil-teacher ratio, Gender Parity Index, Per Student Expenditure are calculated from the data collected through AISHE. These are useful in making informed policy decisions and research for development of education sector. The AISHE reports are now made available to the public on the AISHE portal.

Objectives

The main objectives of the survey are to:

1. Identify & Capture all the institutions of higher learning in the country.
2. Collect the data from all the higher education institutions on various aspects of higher education.

Activities

1. Data Collection from the different sections of Goa University and entry of data in the Data Capture Form(DCF) – I for Goa University and uploading on AISHE portal.
2. Conduct training for AISHE College Nodal Officers and assist them in uploading the college data on the AISHE portal.
3. Assist in successful completion of all programs such as the Swachh Bharat Sumer Internship(SBSI), Swachhta Rankings of  Higher Educational Institutions, etc., launched through the AISHE portal.
