Single Crystal XRD Laboratory

History:

The SCXRD laboratory consists of a BRUKER AXS D8 QUEST ECO Single Crystal XRD system installed very recently in 2019. The 1.4 crore worth SCXRD was purchased under the DST-FIST program (2015-2020). The equipment has both room temperature and low temperature data collection provisions.

Detailed insight into the relationship between structure, function, and reactivity is crucial for the success of modern science. Single Crystal X-ray Diffraction (SC-XRD) is one of the most powerful methods for generating this vital information and has thus become an essential tool for new discovery. The equipment caters to the need of chemists who are working on structural characterisation of Inorganic & Organic compounds.

SHELXTL S/W, Win (10 lic. Suppl w. D8 QUEST), Helpdesk SCD, Spare part kit D-A25, Adjustable Crystal Mount, Attachment for Cryo-Crystallography Accessory which includes Cryostream 800 low-temperature device, refill, Cryostream/ Cobra Mount, Oxford Cryostream Maintenance kit, Liquid Nitrogen Tank.

Achievements:

SCXRD equipment has extrapolated the strength of SCS by getting added to the list of major equipment’s of SCS. So far, several data sets are collected, deposited and reported in the peer-reviewed journals. It has benefited many PhD scholars and MSc students in their research work.
